Who should apply for 482 Visa?
If you are in or outside Australia and worked in a nominated occupation, or a related field (same ANZSCO level) for 2yrs full time you can apply for the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) 482 visa. If you have recently graduated with a relevant Bachelor’s degree from an Australian university you would generally not qualify for this visa unless you have completed another qualification overseas and have 2 years of experience after that qualification. Even if you worked Part-time, it can be counted on a pro-ratio basis. However, policy does not state that Casual work can be counted.
The Temporary Skill Shortage 482 visa is intended to address labour shortages in Australia by bringing in genuinely skilled workers when employers cannot source appropriately skilled Australian workers.

- Were in Australia as the holder of a 482 visa in the Short-term stream for periods that total at least 12 months between 1 February 2020 and 14 December 2021; and

Offshore rollover
There is no automatic rollover. You must apply offshore if you have held more than one Short-term stream TSS 482 visa in the past and you were in Australia when the application for their most recent TSS 482 visa application was lodged and this requirement would not be inconsistent with any international trade obligation (ITO).
If you have held 2 consecutive short-term 482 visas, you may apply for another time offshore, although the genuine temporary requirement may need to be addressed.
